The On Hold function allows you to place charges in a hold state until you are ready to Process or Ticket them.

Place Charges on Hold

1. Navigate to the Billing Queue by clicking the Queue View from the Billing section.

2. Filter the list if needed and select the appropriate Patient from the Patient list. Click the CHARGES tab. Link the Patient if this has not been done already. For more information about linking Patients, please see How-To Guide – Billing – Linking Patients.

3. Select the Charges you wish to Hold. You may click the checkbox under individual Charges, or you click the SELECT ALL button at the bottom of the CHARGES tab. If you click the SELECT ALL button, you will be prompted to select Charges that are Received Only, Received and On Hold, or Received and Assigned.

4. Once the Charges have been selected, click the QUEUE ACTIONS button and select the PLACE ON HOLD button. 

5. If needed, add notes to indicate why the Charge was placed On Hold. Click the NOTES tab and type the notes in the NEW NOTE box and click POST

Notes will appear with a Time/Date stamp and will display name of the User who entered them. 

Manage Charges on Hold

1. Navigate to the Hold Queue by clicking the Hold View from the Billing section.


2.  The Patient List will display. NOTE: Each listing corresponds to a specific Date of Service, so you may see multiple listings for the same Patient. The total number of Charges for the specific Date of Service displays on the right side of the listing. Patients with a WHITE background are currently active on the Census; Patients with a MINT GREEN background have been Discharged. 

3. Select the appropriate Patient from the Patient list by clicking on them. 


4. To adjust which Charges you see for the Patient, use the pop-up at the bottom of the screen to adjust the Charge list.

 

· Date of Service

SELECTED DATE OF SERVICE: This is the default and shows only Charges that match the Date of Service selected.

ALL DATES OF SERVICE: This selection shows all Charges for the selected Patient.


5. Assign or move the Charge(s) back to the Queue. NOTE: You may not Ticket or Process Charges from the Hold View; they must be moved back to the Queue first.

  • To place a Charge back in the Queue and assign it to yourself, click ASSIGN TO ME
  • To place all Charges back in the Queue and assign them to yourself, click ASSIGN ALL TO ME at the bottom of the Charge list.
  • To place all Charges back in the Queue and assign them to yourself, click ASSIGN ALL TO ME at the bottom of the Charge list.lace all Charges back in the Queue without assigning them, click PUT ALL BACK IN QUEUE at the bottom of the Charge list.
