The SuperBill management tool allows you to add, edit, and remove Categories, Modules, Sections, and Items in the SuperBill. For information about adding Items from the Library, please see HOW-TO GUIDE – Administration – Module and QuickList Libraries.T


SuperBill Architecture

The SuperBill consists of four layers. Each layer gets progressively more specific.

· CATEGORIES: The CATEGORY is the first layer. It is generally broad, such as “Visits” or “Diagnostic Testing”.

· MODULES: The MODULE is the second layer. It is somewhat more specific, for example “Consults” or “Stress Tests”.

· SECTIONS: The SECTION allows further categorization of ITEMS within a MODULE, for example “Inpatient”.

· ITEMS: The ITEM is the specific Charge. It contains the following information:

o LABEL: The description of the Charge that the Provider will see when selecting it from the SuperBill.

o CHARGE: The CPT/HCPCS code(s) that apply to the Charge. Multiple codes may be used when separated with a forward slash. Example: 93016/93018.

o BILLING: The description that appears in the Billing Queue.

o MODIFIERS: Any Modifiers that apply to the Charge. Multiple Modifiers may be used when separated by a forward slash. Example: 26/59. NOTE: If you have multiple codes in the CHARGE field, any Modifiers entered will apply to ALL codes.

  RVU: The RVU value of the Charge.


Access SuperBill Management Tool

1. From the Administration section, hover over Charge Setup and click SuperBill. 


Manage Categories

ADD A CATEGORY

1. To add a Category, click + in the Categories section.


2. Enter the name of the Category in the New Category field and click ADD. NOTE: There is a 20-character limit. 


EDIT A CATEGORY

1. Hover over the Category you wish to edit and click the appropriate icon.

 

                · To edit the name of the Category, click the Edit icon, type in the new name, and click SAVE.

  

                · To move the Category up or down on the list, click the up or down icons.

        

REMOVE A CATEGORY

1. Hover over the Category name and click the X icon. NOTE: Removing a Category WILL REMOVE all associated Modules, Sections, and Items. 


Manage Modules

ADD A MODULE

1. Select the Category you wish to add the Module to by clicking on it.


2. Click the + in the Modules section.

 

3. Enter the name of the Module in the New Module field and click ADD. NOTE: There is a 20-character limit.

 

EDIT A MODULE

1. Select the Category that the Module belongs to by clicking on it.

 

2. Hover over the Module you wish to edit and click the appropriate icon.

 

               · To edit the name of the Module, click the Edit icon, type in the new name, and click SAVE.

   

               · To move the Module up or down on the list, click the up or down icons.

        

 REMOVE A MODULE

1. Hover over the Module name and click the X icon. NOTE: Removing a Module WILL REMOVE all associated Sections and Items. 


Manage Sections

ADD A SECTION

1. Select the Category and then the Module you wish to add the Section to by clicking on them.


2.  Click SECTION MANAGER in the upper right corner of the Builder section.


1. 3. Enter the name of the Section in the New Section field and click ADD. NOTE: There is a 100-character limit.

 

2. If you wish to add another Section, type the name of the next section in the New Section field, etc.

 

EDIT A SECTION

1. Select the Category and then the Module for the appropriate Section by clicking on them.


2.  Click SECTION MANAGER in the upper right corner of the Builder section.


3. Click the appropriate icon for the Section you wish to edit.

 

                   · To edit the name of the Section, click the Edit icon, type in the new name, and click SAVE.

  

                   · To move the Section up or down on the list, click the up or down icons.

         

4. When you are done editing the Section(s), click the CLOSE button.

  

REMOVE A SECTION

1. Select the Category and then the Module for the appropriate Section by clicking on them.


2.  Click SECTION MANAGER in the upper right corner of the Builder section.


3. Click the X icon on the Section you wish to remove. 


Manage Items

ADD AN ITEM

1. Select the appropriate Category and then the Module by clicking on them. The Sections will appear in the Builder section.


2. Select the appropriate Section by clicking on it and click NEW ITEM.


3. Enter the information into the fields and click SAVE AND CLOSE when done.

             · LABEL: The description of the Charge that the Provider will see when selecting it from the SuperBill.

             · CHARGE: The CPT/HCPCS code(s) that apply to the Charge. Multiple codes may be used when separated with a forward slash. Example: 93016/93018.

             · BILLING: The description that appears in the Billing Queue.

2. Click the Section to display the Item(s).


3. Click the appropriate icon for the Item you wish to edit.

 

                 · To edit the content of the Item, click the Edit icon.

  

 Make the appropriate changes and click SAVE AND CLOSE.

                 · To move the Item up or down on the list, click the up or down icons.

 

                · To duplicate the Item, click the Duplicate icon.

  

REMOVE AN ITEM

1. Select the appropriate Category and then the Module by clicking on them. The Sections will appear in the Builder section.


2. Click the Section to display the Item(s).


3. Click the X icon on the Item you wish to remove.
