There are two types of Secure Messages in HybridChart: those that are not Patient related, and those that are sent about a specific Patient. This How-To Guide explains how to manage Secure Messages that are in the context of a Patient.

Send a Patient Related Secure Message

1. From any Patient List (including the Census list, Billing Queue, Tickets Queue, and Discharge tools in Data-Mining), hover over the Patient name and click the Secure Message icon.

You may also select a Patient from any Patient List, click the MESSAGES tab, and click COMPOSE.

2. Add Recipients to the Message. You may add as many Recipients as needed.

· You may click into the “Select recipients” box and a drop down of all Users will appear.

· You may search for a User by name.

· You may search for a User by role (Physician, Biller, etc.).

3. Set the Priority of the Message by clicking the drop-down Priority menu. Options are Routine, Urgent, or STAT.

4. Type the Message into the Message Body.
