A PDF containing step-by-step instructions with pictures is available to view or download at the bottom of the page.

1. You may access the QuickDC feature from the SuperBill, QuickBill, QuickEdit, or SnapShot views. Hover over the name of the Patient you wish to Discharge and click the QuickDC icon.

2. In the left column, set the Patient’s follow up instructions.

Disposition: Choose the Patient’s Disposition from the Disposition drop-down list.

Follow Up: Indicate who the Patient should follow up with.

Time Frame: Indicate the appropriate time frame for follow up.

Comments: Add any Patient specific comments.

My Favorite DC: Clicking this button selects you Favorite Discharge, which pre-populates the fields above. This can be added in the User Settings.

Home/No Follow Up: This automatically adjusts the settings to indicate that the Patient is going home and does not require any follow-up.

3. If appropriate, use the middle column to select Metrics for the Patient. Metrics are custom configured by your Practice and may contain any kind of information. They are frequently used to indicate outpatient testing needs prior to follow up and identify high-risk patients but may consist of any information your Practice deems appropriate. To select a Metric, click the checkbox to the left of it.

4. The right column contains the ChargeChecker. The ChargeChecker allows you to check to ensure that no charges have been missed for this Patient’s admission. While it is not mandatory to use the ChargeChecker, it is strongly encouraged to ensure that no charges are missed.

• If Charges are present for the listed date, you will see the Charges listed.

• If Charges are NOT present for the listed date but no Charges were captured that day, click the OVERRIDE button.

• If Charges are NOT present for the listed date and Charges were captured that day, click the SUPERBILL button. You will be taken to the SuperBill to capture the Charge and the Date of Service will be automatically updated. Once you’ve captured the Charge, click DONE

5. To Discharge the Patient, click the DISCHARGE PATIENT button, located in the left column. To cancel the Discharge, click the CANCEL button.
